Cornish Concrete Products can offer thermowall insulated precast wall units for crosswall construction. Essentially, the panels are finished externally with a ready to decorate internal skin. Each unit is manufactured in CCP’s state of the art factory and their production details are taken direct from the CAD drawing file straight to the robotic plotter for setting out. This method leads to more consistent and error free fabrication, which in turn reduces wastage and drives down costs.

Panels comprise of two concrete leaves; typically 50-75mm thick per skin connected using non-metallic, low conductivity ties to ensure that the panels remain thermally efficient and there is no ‘cold bridging’ between layers. Varying thicknesses of insulation are placed between each skin depending on the U value required by the customer.

When installed on site, units are temporarily propped and connecting steel to adjacent double walls or half floor units is placed in the cavity prior to concreting. Once the concrete has cured, a single monolithic element is created. This process is fast, avoids expensive on site formwork and gives an outstanding finish which can be very difficult to achieve on site.
