This mixed use commercial & residential development with stunning sea views was originally envisaged as an insitu concrete frame construction. We worked closely with the contractor, architect and engineer to develop a hybrid precast structure.
To the rear of the six storey, curved structure, precast twin walls replaced insitu concrete walls which retained the cliff face.
Solid crosswall construction and precast stairs were used for the stair and lift cores.
Precast two-way spanning demidec and hollow core floors in conjunction with steel delta beams replaced the transfer slab as well as making up the remainder of the floors in the building.
Additionally, curved precast balconies were supported from cantilevering steel delta beams.
Vertical lifts were in crosswall construction and precast columns tying into the floors.
The adjoining car park was constructed from precast columns, steel delta beams and hollow core floor spanning in between.
