The project included the refurbishment of a four storey building for the new IStructE International HQ.
Within the building, new high quality offices, a meeting room, an auditorium and a library were developed.
Originally a 1960s, steel framed, concrete clad building, the new HQ used both insitu and precast concrete to create a modern, thriving workplace.
We manufactured a precast concrete staircase which was inspired by a traditional cantilever stone stair with a 21 st century interpretation.
The stair was used in a new double height entrance area with an exposed insitu concrete feature wall.
The finely detailed horizontal cantilever precast and steel staircase contrasted with the insitu concrete wall behind.
The stunning white acid etched dolomite elements further enhanced the overall visual aesthetic giving that overall “modern” feel.
